An exhilarating journey through Sri Lanka’s lush landscapes, from white-water rafting in jungle valleys to hiking sacred peaks and misty hill towns.
Day 1: Arrival – Kitulgala
* Meet & greet at Bandaranaike International Airport.
* Transfer to Kitulgala – a small town nestled by the Kelani River, famous for adventure activities.
* Optional stop at the scenic Belilena Cave en route (where prehistoric remains were found).
* Evening at leisure in the rainforest setting.
* Overnight Stay at Kitulgala.
Day 2: Adventure Activities in Kitulgala
• White-water rafting on the Kelani River (Grade 2–3 rapids).
• Forest trekking and birdwatching in Makandawa Rainforest.
• Canyoning or confidence jumps in nearby streams (optional).
• Visit filming locations of ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ (1957).
* Overnight Stay at Kitulgala.
Day 3: Kitulgala → Nallathanniya
* Travel to Nallathanniya, the base for climbing sacred Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada).
* Begin the night climb (usually around 2:00 AM) to reach the summit by sunrise.
* Climb 5,500+ steps to witness a spectacular sunrise and the sacred footprint.
* Overnight Stay in Nallathanniya (rest before/after climb).
Day 4: Nallathanniya → Ella
- Drive to Ella – a mountain village known for scenic beauty and waterfalls.
- En route highlights:
- Devon & St. Clair’s Waterfalls (viewpoints stop).
- Stop at Nuwara Eliya (optional) – ‘Little England’ with colonial architecture.
- Arrive in Ella and relax in the misty hill climate.
- Overnight Stay in Ella.
Day 5: Ella → Kandy
* Morning activities in Ella:
* Hike to Little Adam’s Peak.
* Visit Nine Arches Bridge.
* Optional: Ravana Falls or Zip Lining.
* After breakfast, proceed to Kandy via lush tea hills.
* Overnight Stay in Kandy.
Day 6: Discover Kandy
* Explore the cultural heart of Sri Lanka:
• Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
• Walk around Kandy Lake.
• Visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya.
• Optional: Traditional Kandyan dance show.
* Overnight Stay in Kandy.
Day 7: Kandy → Airport (via Colombo)
* After breakfast, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport.
* If time permits based on flight schedule:
* Optional Colombo City Tour – Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, Galle Face Green, and shopping.
* Tour Ends – Ayubowan!
